1. Selective Couponing: Only cut or print coupons for items my family actually uses. Just because there is a coupon for something, it doesn't mean you have to buy it. If it's not something you normally use then you're actually wasting money to buy it - no matter how discounted it is. I don't know how many times I've ended up recycling coupons that I never used. It's a waste of paper, ink, and time.
2. Meal Planning: Create weekly meal plans. I am going to make more of an effort to follow through on this than in the past. Planning out meals for the week and shopping accordingly saves time, money, and stress. I won't have to make last minute trips to the store for that one forgotten ingredient, I can make my meals from what's on sale for the week or in my pantry, and I won't have to stress about what to make for dinner once 4pm rolls around because I'll have a plan.
