This shopping trip was from earlier this month and so the sales are over, but I still wanted to share what's possible when you match coupons with sales. I had great success at Safeway by matching store sales with store coupons, manufacturer coupons, and by loading coupons to my club card. Before sales and coupons all of this would have cost me $58.44, but I was able to get it for just $13.99! A savings of 76 percent!
4 boxes of Nature Valley Granola Bars: .80 cents each= $3.20 total
2 boxes of Cheerios: profit of .06 cents each= .12 cent profit
2 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios: .49 cents each= .98 cents total
2 boxes Go-gurts: $1.49 each= $2.98 total
18 count Eggs: .98 cents total
Bread: .99 cents total
5 boxes of Crackers: $4.98 total - no coupons used, just a store promotion when you buy 5 boxes
Obviously this is not all my family eats, but I just wanted to showcase some of the great deals out there. My total savings for this week's groceries (produce, dairy, dry goods, and misc.) was 52 percent! Plus I got a coupon for $2.50 off my next grocery bill and a variety of food coupons that printed up with my receipt.
